This is a one-day tour of major sightseeing attractions in Kazakhstan’s capital, including the city’s famous monuments, museums and a leisurely boat ride along the Ishim River.
Baiterek monument
The Baiterek Monument is one of the most recognizable structures in Kazakhstan and is a symbol of Astana, which has been the capital city since 1997. It has a philosophical meaning as well, as it is an interpretation of ancient nomad folklore.
According to the legend Baiterek is the tree of life, the destination of the sacred bird Samruk. It takes refuge in the tree’s high crown to lay a golden egg – the sun – giving life and hope.
The Baiterek Monument symbolizes the three pillars of creation – underground, terrestrial, and celestial world. At the top of the Monument – in the glass ball, you can look at Astana from a bird’s eye view.
Today Baiterek is strongly associated not only with the capital but also the whole country – the symbol of Kazakhstan people preserving their historical roots and heading towards the future.
National Museum of Kazakhstan
The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan is both the youngest and largest museum in Central Asia. The Museum is composed of many interesting sub-sections including the Hall of Astana; the Hall of Independent Kazakhstan; the Golden Hall of Gold; the Hall of Ancient and Medieval History; the Hall of History; Ethnography Hall, and Halls of Modern Art.

Nur-Alem is an innovative hub and an important research and cultural center.
Digital, multimedia and interactive technologies expand the possibilities of
perception within the exposition space, which spans seven floors of the museum. Scientifically-avid visitors can experience demonstrations of several main types of energy such as sun, space, biomass, wind, water and kinetics.
